Tsk!
Woke up early this morning for no reason whatsoever and couldnt get back to sleep. Normally, i would wait patiently for Jie jie to go to work before i dive into her bed. But I couldnt wait this morning so i woke her up ten minutes before her alarm so that i could sleep on her bed.
Tsk!
You would think that she would appreciate the wake up call right? Noooooooooo.... Somebody had to try to continue sleeping at the foot of the bed/ squeak and squeak about her loss of ten mins of sleep/ procceed to jump on me when she was awake/ order me to stop "twirling around on my bed". Tsk!
And if that wasn't enough, just as i had made myself snug and warm in her bed, she managed to tear away her pillows and bolsters away from me... and throw them onto Audrey's bunk bed! TSK! laughin with glee while she did it! tsk! See la? Now i cant go back to sleep and its all your fault jie jie! LOL. is this the way you treat the very person who helped you to decorate your cupcakes??? I expect doughnuts!
Well anyways, so i was surfing through blogs and i remembered Audrey's story. Came home last night to be met with a mournful Audrey. She told me that she witnessed the murder of a bird yesterday. Without further probing, she elaborated on the story. Turns out that St Nicks wanted to celebrate their Birthday with the release of 2 pretty birds. The birds were super pretty.. White ones with a dash of blue.
In front of an entire school assembly (both pri and sec school), they let the birds go free and then the whole school watched in horror as within the next 2 mins, a black crow swooped down and caught one bird. The crow then flew to a nearby point where the school could only watch helplessly as it proceeded to eat the white bird. The other white bird soon fell into a lokang where the teachers hurried to pick it up and bring it back to the school.
Okay, when you put it like that, it's quite sad. But the way Audrey related it was hilarious! At the very end, she wailed plaintively "And the birds were supposed to represent our schooollll!" LOL! It was at that point my sympathetic face gave way to a full blown HAHAHAHA! i can just imagine the open mouths and horrified gasps of the entire school population.. And the poor person who went and organised the event! All the efforts .... only to get a traumatised school population!
Anyhoos.. Now Audrey has homework where she has to write in Chinese her reflections of the incident. hahaha! I wonder what the primary school section had to do.
And before i forget, one last post abt the temp job i did during the hols! No one believes me whenever i say that out of sheer boredom, we made more than 100 boxes! We were so bored that we starting takin pictures!
Here's a candid one of my colleagues/ chit chat buddies! (The one on the left is Olivia, my sister's friend's sister) and one in the foreground is Corinna. During the last few days, we didnt have anything to do (Everytime we asked the co ordinator for work to do, she would clutch her head in despair.), so we sat where Corinna is posed in the photo, amongst the boxes and talked.
Because we were in each other's company 24/7, we talked so much that we ran out of stuff to say! I remember during one lunch, i wanted to ask Corinna something but then told her that i would talk to her during work so that we would have something to do later!
In a mere 5 days, our friendship had progressed from strangers to friends who were able to sit comfortably in contemplative silence... among boxes. Still it was loads of fun due to their company! :D
We had so much time on our hands that we double scotch taped up the bottom of the boxes.. Till the point that i realised that with the 100 boxes that we made, they might not have enough masking tape to seal the top of the boxes! oops!
After making all these, we went to the office downstairs to help them make more boxes!
