I'm just gonna escape from the monotony of studying by writing down a list of what to do after the exams. Most of the time, we tend to come up with fun stuff to do after the exams when we are in the midst of it. I'm not gonna lose my list this time round! It'll be my last school holidays before i step out into the big bad scary grown-up world!

Of course there is the zoo outing and Christmas party i'm tremendously excited about! :) :) :)the tingle-with-pleasure-in-my-pants-and-break-out-into-a-huge-beaming-grin-whenever-i-think-of-it excited!

Things to do for Christmas party
1. Borrow Alvinna's pots and spoons to make the cornflaky biscuits with Mars
2. Order Golden Pillow (Mutton and 2 Chicken)
3. Do you guys wan pizza too? I wonder if we can order from the one below Hidayah's block coz i'm super in love with their garlic bread!
4. Get green braces to match the rest! :) :)
5. Chase for the lists
6. Hidayah's and Asilah's Wishlists!
7. Secret santa shopping!
8. Christmas tree must be up by this weekend! :) :) :) I really do love the Christmas season!

11. Borrow games like Twister ... ermm what else? I'm sorry that we aren't able to play mahjong at my house though..

6. Arrange clothes. I swear, i'm wearing the same tops just cause the cupboard is crammed with audrey's and my stuff and im too lazy to flip thru everything just to get a top!

Well, that's all for now.. I'm thinkin about learning kayaking but christine came back with major sunburn and since i rather not have the crisp black look this Christmas, i'm still hesitant about calling chu hui up!

Speaking of which, sat was the last paper for Chu hui and Yuanjing (the lucky things) which made me feel a little sad about the closing of this sem. It's like, i only see them during school term and after all the "hi-bye"s and fun study sessions, chances of seeing them during dec are pretty low. I am really gonna miss them. Thankfully, its only 4 weeks and the knowledge that i have one more sem to spend with them really comforts me. Sigh. Die la.. only first sem and i feel this way. Imagine how i'll be like on graduation day!

I'll bet my Secret Santa is pulling her hair out now. Don't worry about the more expensive items because it's more for my family. *coughs: Jiejie, christine, mal, audrey* :D

I had to go back to school to return my library books and was pleasantly surprised to find yuanjing and co studying in school. So i joined them and pretty soon, we were *ahem* taking study breaks.

One benefit of studying in school is that you get freebies! And today's freebie was red bull. We had to listen to the pretty promoter talk abt the virtues of red bull before she opened it for us but here's a pic of the nice brochure that comes along with it! I don't particularly like the drawing of the cow though.While i know jie jie was a fan of the red bull series during her swimming days, i have never tasted it so i decided to be brave and sample some today! And then i immediately regretted it. It's a bit cough syrupy x 10000.

In a joint effort to ignore the notes, we started mucking about and soon came up with the following video. This is what Adel is like after one sip of red bull. urrrgghh.

The cut off part was me saying "batteries not included."

As the exams approach, i find myself pondering more over topics which are not only totally unrelated, but silly and mundane as well. For example, i heard the song "Single" by Natasha Beddingfield today and the significance of the song lyrics just rang oh-so-true for me.

Doesn't it echo your exact sentiments? Well, it does for me. It irks me somewhat when people go "why no boyfriend? isn't there anyone??" Is it really neccessary for one to have a significant other before one is considered successful? Is there no other topic to embark on?

I'm not gonna be a feminist who goes "BOYS ARE EVILLLLLL!" and go on a bra burning rampage. Of course i hope to settle down one day. If such a future comes then hooray.. If not, so be it.. In fact, it might even turn out better than the life i hoped for. It's just that after all the failed relationships i've gone through, i don't want to get together with a person just because i need the company. What kind of lame- ass reason is that? What are friends and families for? Plus, what's wrong with a little "me" time? Falling in love with the idea of love is just the worst kind ever.

It's like Snow White, waiting ard for her Prince Charming to save her. Ahem She could have just walked out on her stepmom, not open the door to strangers and just saved herself. Why is there a need to pine for a man (in tights) to do all that simple stuff for her?

Like the song lyrics go, i don't need a man to validate who i am. I don't need someone to assure me how awesome i am or i don't know.. do whatever boyfriends do.

So, no. I do not have any boyfriend or crushes. No, i do not see any "potential". I'm very happy ogling cute strangers, hanging out with my friends and basically kicking back to enjoy life. Life's pretty good, irregardless of whether you have a significant other.

Here's to the days we played bingo

ahhhs bingo.. such an integral part of our JC memories. Well, for all the reasons to groan and moan abt being in NYJC, i'd have to say that i'm really really glad that i went there as i got to know ting when we sat down at the same table grouping in CT class! Since JC, we have been creating loads of wonderful memories, ranging from walking home (as we both live in serangoon garden) to studying in the CC to laughin about loverboy/ sengtat and gold rolex watch/ the smashed in tortise at wendy's tuition. The whole reason why the mere thought of JC allows a smile to spread across my face is mainly beacuse of her.

Here's to the times we leaned on each other when we felt low

I love how she has always been there for me. Cliche but true. I distinctly remember an apt example of how ting has always been there for me. Abt 2 weeks before A levels, i had to go through a terrible breakup and the first thing i did was to run to ting's house for sanctuary. Instead of letting me cry through boxes of tissues while she continued mugging, she actually listened and consoled me. I'll forever be grateful for her support during those days.

The wonderful friendship didnt end with when JC days did. We soon became neighbours in NUS! Those were the days when we got the nicest hostel rooms in PGP and it was really pleasant popping in and out of each other's rooms. Whenever we felt low, we wud bring a sara lee cake or chocolate to munch away our sorrows!!

When she went away to Australia (damn you, down under!), i was really frightened that i would lose this wonderful friendship. Thankfully, MSN, smses and visits have kept our friendship alive! In Year 2, i had to go through a group project with the worst grp members ever. Not only did she listen and helped to calm me down, she even helped me to do parts of the project! Nowadays, she's my "editor". Whenever i face a essay question, we would toss around ideas on how to answer it. Yes, ting is truly a life saver! I lost count of how many times this intelligent girl has helped pull me back on track!

Here's to the secrets kept

Of course, what's a friendship without numerous discussions about our crushes and silly secrets. Like one fridge magnet says, we'll have to be friends forever and ever because you know all my secrets!!

I love how I can always trust her to give me good advice and help me keep my secrets. She has always been a great confidante!

I love how funny she can be with her puns, jokes and lovely sense of humour. Or how she always agrees to go along with my madcap schemes and adds fun of the whole occasion (remember the candle making??) .

Everytime i see her name pop up on MSN, i would immediately click on her name coz i swear.. She always makes my day! When i need to rant, she would listen and sometimes join in..but the conversation always helps me find a funny side to the whole situation.

Remember sentosa? I really appreciateed how ting didnt tell me to shut up about my
"dolphins are fish" theory. or how patient she was in enduring my "pink dolphins look boiled" comments... and and OMG.. i tink we really broke the record for spending the longest time in Underworld since she was really eager to take a nice pic of a scary looking shark. We went round and round and round, tryin to look yummy enough for the shark to come swimming up! :D

And how about all the photos she has kindly provided of the hot guy over there so as to let me get a glimpse at some hotness! She actually took time off to take more photos of R to let me squeal with joy when i saw it posted on her blog!! That seriously made me float up for a bit! hahaha!

And how about all the random smses she sends? Sometimes, the smses come at the most unexpected time and it would just lift my mood up! :D

OH OH OH! AND She's the best shopping partner! It's really fun to try on stuff together and she always offers her most honest feedback. Not to mention the agonised faces she makes when she realises that she loves the clothes she picked out to try out just for fun!

And while this birthday post is a little late,

Here's to the memories we made and will make!

I love how she always gives a 110% of herself to every task she tackles. From projects to planning trips to even life itself, she has always been dedicated. I love how she sets an example of a religious life, how caring she is, how she takes the time to break down the barriers one sets ard oneself, how she never gives up, how we can laugh over the most stressful times, how she has always picked me up, how she is always willing to share good deals (like sentosa!! and tiger airways), how we can both start stoning and still feel comfortable, how she can take my teasing, how beautiful she is, both on the outside and inside... (yes i know! cliche but very apt for ting!), how we both walk fast and will always take over others simultaneously, how we both get happy over the simplest things ( for eg in underworld, when any shark swam near us!) and how she takes the most awesome of awesome photos. Her photos are really mind blowing. She always manages to find some angle of some common object and make it look oh so postcard good! (Like i said, dedicated!) :D

It's undeniable: this girl is truly one in a million!

In short, i'm really grateful that she considers me as a friend. And, no matter what, i'll always love her from the bottom of my heart! Hopefully, we can grow old together. Then when we are really old and wrinkly, we can chase each other in our hot pink vespa wheelchairs!

Today marks the day we got our names for the Secret Santa! Yes, yes, it's a bit early but hey! i was bored during lecture. It's gonna be a long wait coz Im simply bursting to tell who my someone is. arrrghhh!

where do i even begin?
Friday's Hari Raya Visiting was simply fabulous!


We sampled loads of yummy homemade goodies, laughed till our tummies ached and got to visit 3 houses in one night!

The first stop was Alvinna's hse and man, does Alvinna have a princess bed that every girl dreams of owning! Anyways, she graciously offered up her photos for us to have a look at. Naturally we were finding for the days where everyone had centre parting/ feeler hair/ wore vests and colourful pants/ had bowl cut hair... well basically where we all looked gawky. Ohhh don't lie. All of us have been there!

It was really cool going through all the photos. As Vinna has been to Mecca, I got to see the cave my beloved Juliusssss (and singlet *AHHHHH*) was talking about! Asilah cleverly managed to spot a pattern in Alvinna's smiles.. :D can you spot it??



AND! we found a photo of Mr Alvinna! heeeheeehee!



All i'm saying is that i don't ever want to be on the bad side of Alvinna!


We came across photos of Sherlin, Hidayah, Asilah and Alvinna where they were doing their archi project in year 1. It seems so weird to be looking at a photo where everything and nothing has changed.

We had dinner at Alvinna's house where i fell instantly in love with her mom's mutton rendang! I think that there was a salad somewhere... but MUTTON rendang! *SLLURP!* and Chicken curry! and bryani rice! :D :D :D

OH OH OH! and we had bandung there. Now it's offically Huili's drink as it is pink! And there were some lovely pink cookies there too! with a drop of silver on top of the icing. And Vinna's dad made some twisty snack which reminded me of chips. Cause it's never gonna be enough!!


Next stop was Hidayah's house!


I think that i forgot to save the pictures of her neat stacks of newspapers, the arrangement of shells in her name, the neat and orderly state of everything in her house. Seriously, it's that neat. It's like my dad's idea of heaven. Something about the cleanliness of her house gave it the feel of a resort-like atmosphere.


Here's the most resort-y photo i've got of her house! See the pizza and garlic bread?? I'm never going back to pizza hut. The garlic bread was so nicely done that when you bite it, your teeth (and braces) sink into the moist and tasty bread and you can savour every bite!



As mentioned, Hidayah's house is super duper neat. Even the vases are arranged! So we decided to fun her by arranging ourselves in height. No prizes for guessing where i stood. bah.

Hidayah's room has a toy figurine of a green power ranger.... with her picture stuck to the face of the figurine.. So i guess we'll all know what Hidayah would look like if she was a man!

Her parents weren't home so we had the whole house to ourselves. We took that to mean "Let's take photos with the self timer on Alvinna's Cam!" Heh. Here are some of the results!
